hello! if you are visiting us for the first time, and are wondering how remember the budget works, here is a quick introduction to how you can get started!

at remember the budget we believe that it is hard to track every expense on a daily basis. we can try to do this efficiently using various tools and apps, but at the end of it there will be one day when you feel that you are losing track or losing patience with having to remember to enter every expense. and you might actually give yup trying to track at all!

human brain is pretty good at planning, even at a very high level, and is very efficient with minimum strain when it has to track whether it is following a plan or not as compared to minute details of progress. here at remember the budget we believe that the solution to better managing our finances is to make a plan based on known high level items, and generally try to stick to that instead of fretting over every minor expense.

in order to achieve this, we ask you to make a plan for a year - 12 months - and for each month track your known recurring income and expense items. this will give you a good idea of how much you will have. and then you can add additional expenses or income as they come up every month. at any moment you can see all income and expense for that month and also for the year.

does it sound like too much? don't worry! we have a plan wizard that asks you a few questions about general monthly expenses and sets you up with a plan. once you see the plan you will realize that it is a lot easier than you think!
